Royal 8vo.; original black cloth with full-size pictorial label printed in colours to upper board, spine lettered gilt, double-page coloured lobster endpapers, top edges gilt, others untrimmed; pp. [iv], v-x +[xi-xii] + 199 + i; with pictorial title-page and 8 further coloured plates by Maxfield Parrish protected by a captioned tissue-guards; a very good clean copy with mild rubbing to cover plate and just a suggestion of fading to bottom edge of lower cover; internally clean and crisp throughout, without ownership inscription, and with only a few minor speckles and an unobtrusive and closed lower edge tear (5cm) now invisibly repaired; scarce in first printing.
