8vo.; publisher’s light blue linson boards lettered in black to spine, double-page pictorial endpapers in blue, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [vi], 7-192; with black-and-white illustrations throughout accented in either red or blue; a very good copy with slight browning to extreme edges, with speckling to edges of book block but internally spotless, wthout inscription, in an uncommonly clean and fresh, unclipped dustwrapper (6/-) with mild dusting and marking to spine and lower panel, small nicking to spine ends and forecorners, and some localised browning and marking on the reverse side; scarce, especially in this condition.

First edition of this early Famous Five adventure, being the seventh title in the long-running series. The intrepid five enjoy a camping holiday on the moors where they discover old disused tunnels and railway tracks where mysterious ‘spook trains’ are spotted at night.
