8vo.; original dark red textured cloth lettered gilt to spine, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [viii], 9-334; double-page illustrations in line and maps throughout; a very good copy with a short and almost invisible closed nick to heel and a corresponding bump there, internally clean though gently toned due to the quality of the war economy stock, with a contemporary prize label to front free endpaper, in a good, price-clipped dustwrapper with some darkening and marking to spine, dusting to lower panel, nicking to tail and very small chipping to head (to a maximum depth of 5mm); scarce.
