8vo.; publisher’s darkest green cloth elaborately and lavishly gilt, to a sinuous Art Nouveau floral design, to spine and upper board, all edges gilt; pp. [lxii], [1]-256; with line illustrations throughout after engravings by Thomson; a lovely copy, externally bright with a small and unobtrusive bruise to top forecorners of boards, cover gilt slightly rubbed, previous owner’s bookplate to front pastedown and a small ownership inscription, dated 1894, to half-title which has bled through to the verso; internally generally very clean with slight foxing to prelims and endleaves.
