Small 4to.; publisher’s dark green cloth pictorially and prettily gilt with a fairy vignette to upper cover, lettered gilt, top edges green, double-page fairy endpapers in peach, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [x], 11-92 + [i]; with fairy vignettes in line and a total of 72 fine full-page coloured plates; a fine copy, both externally and internally, without ownership inscription, in a near fine, unclipped dustwrapper (10/6) with light external dusting and a small mark to spine (only really visible on the reverse).

Early edition thus, combining three of Cecily Mary Barker’s most popular and elusive flower fairy books into a larger single book consisting of ‘Flower Fairies of the Wayside’; ‘Flower Fairies of the Gardens’ and ‘Fairies of the Trees’.  First published in this more expansive format in 1950.
