____ Boo-Boo the Barrage Balloon. London; Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd. [1943]

£140.00

Landscape imperial 8vo.; original pictorial card boards printed in colours to both covers, stapled; pp. [16], pictorial inner covers in monochrome and striking full-page plates in colour; an uncommonly attractive copy with some overall light external dusting, and a short crease to top forecorner of lower cover.

First edition; issued without a dustwrapper.  A delightful wartime juvenile picture book anthropomorphising Boo-Boo, an enthusiastic barrage balloon who gets himself in all sorts of predicaments in his desire to help Britain’s air defenses.  The author/illustrator is sadly unrecorded.
