An original copperplate etching on fine ivory-coloured artist’s stock with untrimmed edges (card size 145 x 190mm; image size 110 x 150mm) depicting the wise and stately bird wearing pince-nez, draped in a red scarf and carrying a book beneath his wing, while sitting on the branch of a tree alongside a nest containing 3 blue eggs and 3 books, the first of which is titled “Field Guide to Decent Humans”, beautifully handcoloured by the artist, with gold accents and ‘Colour Proof’ in the artist’s hand, signed in pencil to the lower margin; fine.
