8vo.; publisher’s scarlet cloth-backed red flecked cloth, spine lettered gilt, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [vii], 8-256; externally near fine with just a suggestion of a vertical crease to spine, internally fine without ownership marks or inscriptions, in a very good, unclipped dustwrapper (16s) with overall light toning, some very mild tanning to spine, nicking to spine ends with a couple of unobtrusive closed tears there (1cm maximum), now expertly repaired to the reverse with archival tissue-tape, one small brown oval mark to spine (1cm), pale speckling to lower panel and one small brownish mark (circa 2cm).

First edition, first printing. Miss Marple is on holiday on the island of St. Honoré, listening to Major Palgrave’s tedious stories about his life in Kenya.
