First soft cover edition, issued in Pan’s Piccolo Picture Book Series, first issued in hardback in 1971.  A charming little book. Barbarapapa is a well-loved pink candyfloss style figure who can shape-shift, created by a French-American couple in 1970.  He is benevolent, adventurous and a family oriented being, and thus a wholesome role model for the young. When he meets Barbamama, a black-coloured shape shifter, the couple have seven Barbababies, each with a distinct colour and personality.B
